Site Seeing1Almost half of Dorset is officially recognised as OUTSTANDING - an astonishing mix of beautiful landscapes and great views round every corner.

We like to shout about how great this landscape is but as pictures speak louder than words, we launched the 2016 Site Seeing photo competition to find some great new images .. and photographers too!

Over 300 photos were entered into Site Seeing, by over 100 photographers, so we had a difficult job to choose the Winners and Runners Up. Sue Dampney, Dorset AONB Team said 'All the entries really captured the Dorset  landscape and were as different as the landscape itself! It was lovely to get a taste of the places that people feel are special. We engaged a professional photographer to help choose the winners as it was too difficult a job to do ourselves - the range and quality of entries was outstanding.'

A survey has revealed that Golden Cap is people’s favourite place in the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The survey, conducted by the Dorset AONB Partnership, also reveals that the natural beauty of the countryside is what people like most about the area.
