Heritage Project Final Report

The South Dorset Ridgeway Heritage Project  - a success story

SDR-logo-232The South Dorset Ridgeway Heritage Project which finished Summer 2011 was an important and successful part of the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty team’s work from 2008. It provided an opportunity to both celebrate the incredible heritage of this distinct area of ancient landscape and to bring people together to take part in shaping their landscape now and into the future.

The final report about the project has now been published and can be downloaded below.

The report describes how the project was managed, some key successes and a summary of the lessons learnt. The project was primarily concerned with research, sharing knowledge and celebrating the area known as the South Dorset Ridgeway.

The report is accompanied by two externally produced reports, examining the Sutton Poyntz web-map project and reporting of the archaeological surveys at two Bronze Age round barrow site along the Ridgeway.
