Bronze Age Festival 2009
The Bronze Age Festival
Around 700 people came to the Bronze Age Festival at Maiden Castle on 19/20 September. This brilliant and unique event was organised by the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’s South Dorset Ridgeway Heritage Project to celebrate the rich archaeological heritage of the South Dorset Ridgeway. Volunteers from the Ancient Wessex Network were on hand to demonstrate more about life in Bronze Age Dorset 4000 years ago. Archaeologists, local artists and a storyteller were also present to help people understand this little known part of our past.
