Ridgeway Voices A Virtual Exhibition
Discover the South Dorset Ridgeway
An exhibition at Dorset County Museum in May and June 2011 celebrated the work of the South Dorset Ridgeway Heritage Project with Oral History recordings, photography and screenings of short films.
Using hand held audio equipment visitors to the exhibition were able to listen to clips from recordings made as part of oral history and audio trail projects. The memories shared provided an often humorous and sometimes moving insight into life and changes in the area through the 20th Century.
Sue Macpherson ARPS voiced her impressions of this special landscape through a collection of photographs taken during the previous year. Her atmospheric images shown alongside historic photographs set the scene for the exhibition.
Younger residents, members of the live IT love IT film IT Group, also been expressed their notion of today’s landscape through moving image and some short films were screened alongside work by Jorn Ebner
If you were not able to visit the Ridgeway Voices Exhibition then why not listen to a few audio clips and view a few of the graphic panels for a flavour of the exhibition.
