Community event - credit Dorset Wildlife TrustHelp from volunteers is always welcome.

Volunteers can help the Environment Agency to record stream flows in their local area, learn to record the historic environment through 'The Past on Your Doorstep' Project, and can send in records of winterbourne wildlife.

'The Past on Your Doorstep' Project has purchased some basic recording equipment including digital cameras, GPS handsets, ranging rods and waterproof clipboards for recording in the Winterborne Valleys. The equipment was purchased to enable recording for the Historic Environment Record, but can be borrowed for recording anything to do with the project or community events.

Community events have been held to allow residents to find out about the historic environment of the Winterborne Valleys, from guided walks, to opportunities for children to try their hand at excavating archaeological finds.

If you have any additional skills to offer which could be of assistance to the Dorset Winterbournes Project, please contact us.
