Celebrations are held around the world to mark the birthday of Robert Burns - but you can join us for a Barnes Supper to celebrate the birthday of that other dialect poet, Dorset's very own William Barnes.  The evening, in Portesham Village Hall, will be in the company of the Ridgeway Singers & Band led by Tim Laycock and Phil Humphries and will start with the 'serpenting in' of a Blue Vinny, followed by performances of Barnes' poems (including Linden Lea famously set to music by Ralph Vaughan Williams) and traditional music collected locally by the Hammond brothers (on their bicycles) in the early 1900s.  Not to mention a supper of local Dorset food......

Tickets cost £18 and can be booked online on the Artsreach website or by phone on 01305 871035.
