Take a closer look

Langdon Hill is a well known walkers delight and can be enjoyed through all the seasons. In spring and summer, Langdon Hill is awash with flowers including bluebells and foxgloves. In autumn, take a look at the weird and wonderful fungi that pop up around the woods. Don’t forget to look up too, as you may be lucky and spot buzzards and raving soaring overhead.

With something for all the family to enjoy, a relatively level circular walk interspersed with great viewpoints, play trails and woods to explore for the kids and even a short but steep hike to Golden Cap for those more adventurous, it is sure to please everyone!

Walk a little ... or a lot!

The opportunities for walking in this area are almost endless – you can have a gentle stroll in the woodland or a whole day hike along the coast. Here are some suggestions:

  • Short walks: If you have an hour or less, the National Trust recommend some short circular walks, starting at Langdon Hill car park – with stunning views guaranteed!
  • Bit longer and a lot steeper: Add in a diversion to Golden Cap following the sign posts half way round the circular walk.
  • South West Coast Path: Follow this part of the National Trail along the coast from Seatown, taking in Langdon Hill and the medieval hamlet of Stanton St Gabriel (a gentle stroll which bypasses Golden Cap).
  • Jurassic Coaster: If you want to walk just one way, check out the X53 Jurassic Coaster bus route as there’s a bus stop close to Langdon Hill.
